This is why it is important that you should avoid touching the infected area as it will likely infect you too. If you know someone who has impetigo, you might want to steer clear of them as touching the affected part even the clothes they wore can infect you.

You have to remember that children cannot resist the temptation to scratch the sores. So, try to keep the infection at bay by keeping the sores covered. This will keep your child from scratching the sores, therefore, effectively containing the infection.
